The engagement is under the Apprentices Act and covers Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. IOCL has notified a total of 433 provisional apprentice seats across nine states/UTs. The vacancies cover Technician Apprentice, Trade Apprentice/ITI, Graduate Apprentice and Data Entry Operator apprenticeship categories.

State-Wise Vacancy Distribution

PwBD reservation: PwBD reservation for Graduate Apprentice and Data Entry Operator disciplines is applied horizontally across categories as per applicable government guidelines. PwBD candidates are not eligible for Discipline Codes 101–111. The number of vacancies is provisional and may increase or decrease depending on the actual requirement.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility depends on the discipline code selected by the candidate. The prescribed qualification must be obtained through a recognised institution and, where specified, through a regular full-time course. Part-time, correspondence and distance-learning qualifications are not eligible.

Additional eligibility conditions:

• Where CGPA, OGPA or letter grades are awarded, the equivalent aggregate percentage must be entered according to the concerned Board, University or Institute norms.
• A candidate may undergo a maximum of two apprenticeship trainings, with the second apprenticeship in a different trade and subject to the conditions specified in the notification.
• Candidates who have completed five years in the relevant discipline as on 31 August 2026 after acquiring the prescribed qualification are not eligible.
• Candidates possessing higher professional qualifications such as B.E., MBA, MCA, CA, ICWA or LLB are not eligible.
• Diploma or Vocational Certificate holders having one year or more of job experience after acquiring the qualification are not eligible.
• Candidates whose apprenticeship contract has already been approved by BOAT on the NATS portal cannot create another apprenticeship contract.
• Only one discipline code can be selected. Applying for more than one discipline code will lead to rejection of the applications.

IOCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026 does not involve a written examination or interview. Selection is primarily based on merit in the prescribed qualifying examination, followed by document verification and medical fitness requirements.

• Online Application: Candidates must register on the applicable NAPS/NATS portal and submit the required application.
• Merit List: Merit is prepared using the percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed qualification.
• Tie-Breaking: In case of equal marks, earlier date of birth is considered first, followed by higher matriculation marks if required.
• Preference: Preference is given to candidates applying for apprenticeship training for the first time.
• Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must produce the required original documents and self-attested copies.
• Medical Fitness: Candidates must satisfy IOCL's pre-engagement medical fitness standards.
• Offer of Engagement: Candidates who successfully complete verification and medical requirements may receive the apprenticeship engagement offer.

• Latest caste certificate for candidates claiming reserved-category benefits.

• Semester-wise or year-wise ITI, HSC, Graduation or Diploma mark sheets, as applicable.
• Final ITI, HSC, Graduation or Diploma certificate issued by the relevant authority.

• First page of Aadhaar-seeded bank passbook and cancelled cheque.
• Pre-engagement medical fitness certificate.

3. For Trade Apprentice and Data Entry Operator posts, use the NAPS portal. For Technician and Graduate Apprentice posts, use the NATS portal.
