✅ Educational & Technical Qualification

For SSSB Punjab Craft Instructor Recruitment 2026, candidates must have passed 10th standard with Science and Mathematics under the 10+2 system from a recognized School or Board. The technical qualification depends on the trade and the applicable annexure.

Annexure-A: Degree/Diploma Trades

• A relevant Bachelor's Degree/B.Voc in the corresponding engineering discipline from an AICTE/UGC-recognized institution, along with 1 year of relevant industry or teaching experience; OR
• A 3-year Diploma in the corresponding discipline from an AICTE-recognized institution or relevant Advanced Diploma (Vocational) from the Director General of Training, along with 2 years of relevant industry or teaching experience.
• The required engineering/technology discipline varies according to the trade, such as Mechanical, Civil, Electronics, Instrumentation, Chemical, Textile, Agriculture Engineering and other relevant disciplines.
• Degree/Diploma candidates selected under this category must acquire the National Craft Instructor Certificate (NCIC) in the respective trade within three years of appointment.

Annexure-B: NTC/NAC Trades

• National Trade Certificate (NTC) or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in the corresponding trade from a recognized institution.
• National Craft Instructor Certificate (NCIC) in the corresponding trade.
• 3 years of relevant experience in an organization registered under the Factories Act, 1948, or teaching experience in a Government or Government-recognized institution.

Additional Mandatory Conditions

• Punjabi Language: Candidates must have passed Matriculation with Punjabi as a compulsory or elective subject, or an equivalent Punjabi language examination.
• All required educational and technical qualifications must have been completed on or before 30 July 2026.
• After appointment, Craft Instructors must undergo practical industry training and pass the prescribed practical examination within three attempts over three years from the date of appointment.

The age of candidates will be calculated as on 01 January 2026.

Note: State/Central Government employees claiming upper age relaxation must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their department along with the application.

📋 Reservation Policy

• Reservation benefits are available only to candidates domiciled in Punjab State.
• A valid Domicile/Residence Certificate is mandatory for every candidate and should not be older than 5 years at the time of submission.
• SC, BC, Ex-Serviceman, EWS, PwD and other reservation certificates must comply with the prevailing Government of Punjab instructions.
• Reservation for women will be governed by the Punjab Civil Services (Reservation of Posts for Women) Rules, 2020 and subsequent amendments.
• Ex-Serviceman vacancies will first be filled by Ex-Serviceman (Self) candidates and, if suitable candidates are unavailable, by Ex-Serviceman (Dependent) candidates as per applicable Punjab Government rules.

🎯 Selection Process

The selection process for SSSB Punjab Craft Instructor Recruitment 2026 will be based primarily on the objective-type written examination followed by counseling and document verification.

1. Objective Type Written Examination – Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
2. Merit List – Merit will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the written examination.
3. Negative Marking – Each correct answer carries 1 mark, while 1/4 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
4. Counselling & Document Verification – Shortlisted candidates will be called for counseling and verification of certificates.
5. In case of a tie in merit, preference will be given first to the candidate with the older date of birth, followed by higher percentage in the required qualification and then higher marks in Matriculation.
6. Being called for the examination or counseling does not guarantee final selection. Candidates must prove their eligibility in all respects.
7. Sports category candidates will be considered as per the applicable Punjab Sports Department instructions.
