🎯 Selection Stages
The SBI PO selection process is conducted in three phases. Preliminary Examination is used for shortlisting only, while the final merit is prepared using Main Examination and Phase-III marks. Candidates should prepare section-wise because the Main Examination includes both objective and descriptive components.
- Phase-I Preliminary Examination: Online objective test of 100 marks with English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability. The duration is 1 hour with separate sectional timing.
- Phase-II Main Examination: Objective test of 200 marks and descriptive test of 30 marks. The total duration is 3 hours 30 minutes.
- Phase-III: Psychometric Test, Group Exercise and Interview. Group Exercise carries 20 marks and Interview carries 30 marks.
- Negative Marking: 1/4th of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for each wrong answer in objective tests.
- Final Merit: Main Exam marks are normalised to 75 and Group Exercise plus Interview marks are normalised to 25, making a final score of 100.
